Objective of this tour : You will learn about the wine making process from the grape to the glass and taste the characteristic of the St Emilion & Pomerol wines. What are the main differences between the Bordeaux appellations, what is the terroir, blend, classification, AOC ? You will know the answers to all these questions.

Note : Visits are not private and only by special arrangement. Chateaux visited & schedule depend on availabilities but most of them are members of "Union des Grands Crus de Bordeaux" which is a mark of quality. We can only confirm visited properties after your payment and a definitive itinerary will be sent to you before your arrival. Usually a tour with wine tasting takes around 1h/1h30 and they propose 2 different wines from the estate. Chateaux & wineries are closed from 12am until 2pm.

St Emilion, 2000 years of history

Saint-Émilion is a veritable outdoor museum, founded according to the legend by a modest hermit ... city full of history, perched on a rocky promontory, Saint-Emilion and its vineyard draw their originality from the limestone which offers an exceptional soil vineyards. The architectural frame of 8 towns forming the Jurisdiction of Saint-Emilion testifies, meanwhile, the constant evolution of the landscape and people: a religious heritage (churches, chapels), hundreds of wine chateaux. Thus the Jurisdiction of Saint-Emilion was listed as World Heritage World in 1999, the title of "Cultural Landscape". This was the first vineyard classified in the world. Our heritage and terroir have a huge influence over the local gastronomy. Wine also plays an important part in it. Currently, the Greater Saint-Émilion Area has three starred tables recorded: La Table de l'Hostellerie de Plaisance** and Le Logis de la Cadène* in Saint-Émilion as well as L’Auberge Saint-Jean* in Saint-Jean-de-Blaignac! You will enjoy your lunch in one of them !
